*WARNING: Contemplative coaching may unpredictably alter beliefs and performance.

Pronounced odyssey. We all live with limitations in systems of constant, connected flux. We develop different beliefs to deal with these limitations, and we each try our best to thrive without control, in social systems that demand it.

I enjoy engaging with this Truth of Uncertainty, because I sincerely believe “the truth will set us free.” I hope to support empowered choices, along with the curiosity, the compassion, and the courage that is necessary to continuously adapt our best-laid plans for optimal outcomes.

Please text me a brief description of your current situation, only if you are curious about finding your own effective choices through simple acceptance of core needs, acceptance of interconnectedness, and acceptance of current limitations. For our contemplative coaching partnership, you agree to maintain awareness and responsibility for your own wellness. I am simply a gentle challenger, offering intellectual support and compassion for the journey.

Please include ODIC as the subject line for your text. You may introduce yourself or remain anonymous. I will typically respond within three days, offering compassionate acknowledgment of your experience, along with a few questions to consider for practical learning and improved choice. These questions or thoughts may feel deeply unsettling at times. Choosing to engage this discomfort may provide valuable information to develop new understanding and direction for your future achievements. I look forward to working with you!

ENERGY AWARENESS SCALE EXERCISE

Energy Awareness Scale: No energy level is “good’ or “bad”, “right” or “wrong”. Any energy level can be helpful in the appropriate context. Our energy level fluctuates throughout the day, responding to internal and external demands. Energy levels can give us information about how safe we feel, or even what we want from a situation. The scale can help us reflect to see if our energy is “meeting the moment” in ways that work for us. If we are not doing what works for us, what is blocking access to our Compassionate Self-Coach? Sometimes simply identifying and acknowledging how we feel is enough to identify an energy block and shine light on the next steps.

Energy Awareness Scale Meditation (audio above): Take three slow, deep breaths and turn your mind toward becoming curiously aware of your body, thoughts, and feelings. How would you describe your current energy level? What parts of you have conflicting energy? Sometimes, gently noticing different feelings can lead you to previously ignored parts of yourself. What would you like to achieve? How are these energy level/s, or part/s, trying to support you? How effective are these strategies for you right now? What stands in the way of experiencing different energy levels? What can you imagine doing with different energy levels? How can you provide your parts with compassion and encouragement to help them feel safe and more confident? What is preventing you from providing compassion and encouragement to yourself, or your parts? What first step could you test to begin changing your relationship with these obstacles?
